EASA Part 66 and Part 147 Services

 

What is Part 66? Part 66 aviation regulation define the condition under which maintenance engineer is authorized to release an aircraft into service after a maintenance operation. The condition required and defined by minimum education requirement (School leaving certificates, working language, etc) as well as type rating qualifications for the aircraft or particular task. The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is the busy responsible for ensuring that National Competent Authorities, e.g. Civil Aviation Authorities of Thailand verify aircraft engineer licensed application. For maintaining aircraft of 5700kg MTOM and above, but excluding airship, license and issued EASA Implementing Rule (IR) Part-66 is a common European aircraft maintenance license recognised in all EASA member state.

COURSES

HOW IS THE AML REGULATED?

 

In order to standardise training and licensing of aircraft technician, the European Aviation Safety Agency, has issued a set of regulations to standardise processes and qualifications in the entire European Union included Croatia to get the Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML). 

 

The applicable regulation is known as Part 66.

Part 66 provides, therefore, the requirements for the technical qualification of such personnel, mainly in terms of knowledge and experience. The certification of personnel who meet these requirements is attested by the issuance of an approved EASA Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML).

As air transport continues to enjoy rapid growth and public attention and awareness to safety has never been as high throughout the entire aviation sector. Training is becoming more vital than ever to ensure sustainability in terms of available resources and applied quality within the industry.

We are an EASA Part 147 approved Maintenance Training Organisation and certified to deliver the necessary training to get the Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML) according to EASA regulation Part 66.

Our wide range of courses complies with all the current EASA requirements for technical training, and even most importantly, all training solutions have been developed with our customers’ in mind and are always tailored – whether in terms of planning, timing or location – to individual needs. Civil Aviation Technical Training focuses on both EASA Basic and Specialised Training, addressing companies as well as individuals, such as operators and maintenance organizations.


Our Basic Training is designed for applicants of EASA Categories A, B1.1, B1.3 and B2 technicians specialized in airplanes or helicopters. We offer all the necessary theoretical modules and practical elements you need in accordance with the dedicated regulations. CATT - Civil Aviation Technical Training also offers a variety of Specialised Courses in the aeronautical sector, ranging from purely technical topics to managerial ones.

 

These courses encompass also all mandatory initial and recurrent training for certifying staff and EASA approved organizations. The courses are provided in a traditional classroom environment formats and most of them can be enjoyed more flexibly through distance learning solutions. At Civil Aviation Technical Training we also offer our customers the option of on-site courses, reducing travel costs and ensuring minimum disruption of on-going activities.

We manage and Coordinate EASA part 66 B1/B2 license admission services to international assistance to Part 147 school companies, individual foreign student service provides assistance to get admission. As well as assistance to enroll external examination in EASA Part 66 Training. Short modular courses. Aviation part 147 schools that offer a flexible, short, modular programme that provides the theoretical knowledge and EASA approved EASA Part 66 examinations required for the full Part 66 license, for those seeking licensing through the 'Self-improver' route.

Our EASA Part Training services is available in 3 difference services 

I. Short Modular Course

The Modular Program is a short flexible training Courses of a duration of 6 months, that provides theoretical knowledge training, conducting on partnership with Dviation Solution and SR Technic, approved by Europe Union member. The modular Program prepare our clients for obtaining the Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) for Category B1 and B2. The modular Program covers all individual Modules for the training content of Part-66 for the relevant category in accordance with the knowledge level defined on PART-66 appendix 1.

The theoretical knowledge acquired is verified by EASA Part 66 Approved examinations from Dviation Solution and SR Technic at the end of each module Training.

The participants will receive approved Dviation Solution or SR Technic Certificate of Recognition which is one of the prerequisites for the issuance of AMEL, upon successful completion of the module course. 

II. EASA Part-66 Customized has Training

This program is a customised training Package contain, EASA Part 66 modules Theoretical Training conducted by Approved Local Instructor. The candidate can choose the modules for training as per their requirement. Each individual module training covers all topics and subtopics, with the knowledge level required for the relevant category that the candidate belongs to, in accordance with Part-66, appendix 1.

The theoretical knowledge acquired is verified by EASA Part 66 Approved examination from Dviation Solution and SR Technic at the end of each module raining.

The participants will receive approved Dviation Solution or SR Technic Certificate of Recognition which is one of the prerequisites for the issuance of AMEL, upon successful completion of the module course. 

III. EASA Basic Examination

Training Courses

Aircraft Maintenance License Categories

 The Technician or Engineering, certified by Aircraft Maintenance License, may be specialised according to the maintenance activities he will perform. This specialisation has been standardise by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) through a category segmentation.

 

The Aircraft Maintenance License categories are;

  • Category A - Line Maintenance Certifying mechanic

  • Category B1 - Maintenance Certifying Technical - Mechanical

  • Category B2 - Maintenance Certifying Technical - Avionic

  • Category C - Base Maintenance Certifying Engineer 

 

In Addition, the aircraft maintenance license category A and B1are subdivided into subcategories relative to combination of airplanes, helicopters, turbine and piston engine as follow;

  • A1 and B1.1 Aeroplanes Turbine

  • A2 and B1.2 Aeroplanes Piston

  • A3 and B1.3 Helicopter Turbine

  • A4 and B1.4 Helicopter Piston

Thai Aerospace Industries provide the basic training for the categories A1, B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, B2 and C

Category A1

The Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) on entry level category A1, according to EASA, deliver certificate for 

schedule line maintenance and basic defect rectification task. An AML Category A1 enable maintenance organization to employ trainee operationally as quickly and efficiently. The upgrade to the more comprehensive AML CategoryB can be undertaken anytime in accordance with companies need or individual's decision.

For Beginners the ideal training program is a fully approved course lasting 800 hoursdelivered as a single course or on modular basis.

Candidate who already have work experience in aircraft Maintenance can be decide for modular course which - If completed as single block - is over with in a period of 36 days, or can be completed as individual modules delivered at a pace suite to your timeframe.

Category B1.1 and B1.3

The Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) Category B1.1 (aircraft) and B1.3 (helicopter) according to EASA allow the holder to issue certificate of release to service, following Maintenance, including aircraft structure, power plant and mechanical and electrical system. Authorization to replace avionic line replaceable units (LRUs) requiring simple tests to prove their serviceability is also permitted.

 

For Beginners the ideal training program a fully approved course lasting 2400 hours delivers as a single course or on modular basis.

  

Candidate who already have work experience in aircraft Maintenance can be decide for modular course which - If completed as single block - is over with in a period of 52 days, or can be completed as individual modules delivered at a pace suite to your timeframe. 

Category B2

The Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) Category B2 according to EASA allow the holder to issue certificate of release to service, following maintenance on avionic and electrical system.

Subsequently, a training to add authorisation capability to an existing B2 License with the B1 License privilege can be undertaken

anytime.

For Beginners the ideal training program a fully approved course lasting 2400 hours delivers as a single course or on modular basis.

Candidate who already have work experience in aircraft Maintenance can be decide for modular course which - If completed as single block - is over with in a period of 42 days, or can be completed as individual modules delivered at a pace suite to your timeframe.

The aircraft maintenance is a critical activity and hence is highly regulated. This is done to ensure safety by stringently following the norms for optimizing flight functionally & mining risk. Anyone choosing a career in aircraft Maintenance Engineering for global platform must undertake Aviation course to conform to Acceptable Mean of Compliance (AMC) Part 66, Certifying staff, issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

 

AMC Part 66 has four level of authorization;

A) Level 1: General Familiarization i.e Unlicensed

B) Level 2: Category A Ramp & Transit, Has the ability to only certify own work - only tasks with documented training. 

C) Level 3: Category B1 (electro-mechanical) and/or B2 (avionic): Line certifying staff and Base maintenance supporting staff, 

                Has the ability to certify all work relating to aircraft/engine.

D) Level 4: Category C Base maintenance certifying staff, Has the ability to certify all works performed on an aircraft/engine but only

                  limited to Base maintenance
